Greetings from the Board Chairperson and the Principal

清く正しくうつくしく

Takarazuka Shoka-tai "Takarazuka Choir", lately renamed and developed as Takarazuka Music School, was established in July, 1913. Nine months later, the very first performance of Takarazuka Revue took place. In such a long history of ours, Takarazuka Music School was separated from Takarazuka Revue Company in 1939 as the independent educational institution, but still the members of Takarazuka Revue Company solely consist of graduates of Takarazuka Music School and more than 5,000 graduates have performed on the stage of Takarazuka Revue since the establishment of our school, and we celebrated our 110th anniversary in July 2023. Let us express our heartfelt gratitude for your unfailing supports for our Company.

Takarazuka Music School is sort of a gate that all the young students must go through in order to perform on the stage of Takarazuka, which they are so much yearn to be a part of. All through two-year education (the first year for preparatory course and the second for finalizing course), every student is expected to keep herself healthy, both physically and mentally, and to learn earnestly the basics of music, dancing and acting as well as the what need to be acquired as a stage person.

It is physically so hard and even monotonous to keep on going through the trainings for basics day by day, but only who never forgets the importance of fundamentals and makes every little effort steadily will bloom beautifully on the stage in the future.

At the same time, in accordance with the school motto "Purely, Honestly and Gracefully", we consider it very important for our students to learn courteous manners and considerate behaviours. Even in our modern society with increasingly diverse values, there is always something unchangeable; it is very important to learn these aspects of life to become a well-cultured woman and a respectable person.

Our school, as the preparatory institute for actors of Takarazuka Revue Company, will proudly offer our educational program and do our best to help our students learn the basics of stage arts as well as cultivate their minds. At the same time, however, we will never hesitate to reflect upon and revise some traditional aspects of our school policies which could be considered less appropriate in our current society. Along with the revision and reformation of organizational culture of Takarazuka Revue Company, we sill do our best to further develop our educational program to offer the beautiful future to our young students and young performers.
